Applefest – Downtown Bowmanville
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Historic Downtown Bowmanville transforms into Applefest, a celebration of all things apple. Expect fresh cider, pies, crisps, candy apples, cider donuts, and the famous hot apple fritters. With artisan vendors, live entertainment, and family activities, it’s a true small-town festival that draws visitors from across the region.
Pumpkin Patches & Farm Adventures
Willowtree Farm (Port Perry)
Known for its year-round market, Willowtree really comes alive in October with Pumpkin Palooza. Families can pick pumpkins, enjoy farm games, and make a day of it with seasonal treats. Pumpkin Palooza runs on weekends: October 4-5, October 11-13 (Thanksgiving), and October 18-19, 2025.
Applewood Farm & Winery (Seagrave)
Home to a massive 40-acre corn maze and a sprawling pumpkin patch, Applewood is the place for families who love a mix of challenge and tradition. You can pick your own pumpkins and squash, then stop by the shop for honey, jams, and their popular farm beverages. Open throughout the fall season.
Brooks Farms (Mount Albert)
Just outside Durham, Brooks Farms is famous for its Fall Fun Festival, running every weekend (and Thanksgiving Monday). Expect a barnyard playland, wagon rides, apple and pumpkin picking, live entertainment, and a bustling market full of baked goods and preserves. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, with festival programming on weekends.
Cooper’s Farm (Zephyr)
Home to the Cooper’s Harvest Festival, this farm is all about celebrating autumn. Wander through their 10-acre corn maze, meet farm animals, and stock up on fall goodies. The festival runs on weekends from September 20 through October 26, 2025, making it an ideal family outing this October.
Knox Farm (Hampton)
A Durham favourite, Knox’s Pumpkin Farm has been a tradition for many families. This year, Austism Ontario is hosting a special pumpkin-picking evening on October 9, 2025, from 5–7 pm at the farm.
