Oshawa is getting a full afternoon of food, activities, local businesses, prizes and community connections on August 15, 2026!
Join us at 785 Taunton Rd E (Torchbearer Taproom) from 12 PM to 4 PM for Meet Your Neighbours Community Day, an event designed to bring residents, families, local businesses and community organizations together in one place.
Throughout the afternoon, there will be scheduled meetup times for different interests and age groups, along with pop-ups, giveaways, food and other activities happening around the plaza.
Scheduled Meetup Times
12:00 PM – 12:45 PM | Parents & Young Kids
A chance for local families to connect while the kids enjoy activities and limited free kids packs.
1:00 PM – 1:45 PM | Dogs & Their Owners
Bring your dog, meet other local pet owners and enjoy a pup cup.
2:00 PM – 2:45 PM | Beer & Cider Enthusiasts
Meet other local residents while enjoying beer and cider samples.
3:00 PM – 3:45 PM | Music & Trivia Lovers
Put your music knowledge to the test with Name That Tune.
You can attend one of the scheduled meetups or simply stop by anytime between 12 PM and 4 PM.
Charity BBQ Supporting Nova’s Ark
The Dan Plowman Team is providing the BBQ, with proceeds supporting Nova’s Ark.
The menu includes:
- Hot Dog Combo – $5
- Burger Combo – $8
- Cheeseburger Combo – $10
It is an easy way to grab lunch while supporting a local organization. The BBQ is cash only.
Prizes, Local Businesses and More
The event will also feature local business pop-ups, community organizations, prizes and giveaways, including a chance to win a pair of Toronto Maple Leafs tickets against the New York Islanders in September.
Live Music Starts at 8 PM
After the daytime event wraps up, the evening continues with live music starting at 8 PM at the Torchbearer Taproom.
