Ajax Bungalows For Sale

Situated in-between Pickering and Whitby, Ajax is a town that has grown exponentially in popularity.

This vibrant town is up-and-coming, and has seen a lot of development over the last few years. With a mixture of both older properties and new construction homes, bungalows in Ajax are typically the former.

The real estate market in this charming town is primarily multi-story homes, condos, and townhomes. Again, many of these are new construction and are built in modern styles. Bungalows offer a bit of history and unique charm for the interested homebuyer. This home type is suitable for a variety of lifestyles, including couples, families, and retirees. Ajax bungalows also tend to be built in quaint, cottage or ranch designs.

Whilst multi-storey detached homes can range between $700,000 and $4,000,000 (at the higher end, of course), bungalows in Ajax are generally more affordably priced. In contrast to multi-story homes, bungalow can start between $600,000 and $700,000. This property type is also less likely to pop up on the real estate market. It is not uncommon for homebuyers to purchase an older bungalow for sale and then make extensive renovations. As a result, these homes are generally seen as an investment opportunity.

But for those dreaming of their own small bungalow, these properties feature multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, large yards (both front yards and back yards), and additional square footage in the basement. Older properties also tend to have highly-desirable hardwood flooring.

Luxury bungalows are very rare, but are exceptional properties. These homes are immaculately renovated in contemporary styles, and have modern interior upgrades. Large, private lots are also a common feature, which is why these homes in particular are some of the most desirable in Ajax.

Discover Ajax: Highlights & Amenities

With a population of around 130,000, Ajax is a smaller community in comparison to some of cities on the lakefront. However, this is part of its appeal, alongside its beautiful homes and suburban lifestyle.

Ajax is perhaps most well-known for its waterfront location, its casino, and its numerous parks and trails. Situated between Toronto/Scarborough and Oshawa, Ajax residents can easily commute to larger communities via car or public transit. The Ajax GO train can take passengers to Union Station in about 45-50 minutes, while the same train can take commuters to Oshawa in about 15-20 minutes.

The community offers commercial areas just minutes from residential neighbourhoods. The center of Ajax, around the intersection of Bayly Street and Harwood Avenue, features shops and restaurants as well as new condo towers. Harwood Plaza is a main shopping destination, with the Ajax Community Centre and Ajax Public Library just down the street. Additionally, Ajax also has a few large parks, including Greenwood Conservation Area in the north, and Rotary Park by the lakefront.
