Exterior of a luxury home with a pool

So you want to buy a luxury home, that sounds like an exciting and great idea, but where do you start?

Every homebuyer has a certain checklist of things they want in their head, from things they can compromise on to others they absolutely can’t.

Now while this is in the mind of every homebuyer, it’s even more emphasized for luxury home buyers due to the price point they’re paying at and the value they want in return for it.

Today we’re helping you envision your dream home with 5 luxury home features buyers want most.

5 Luxury Home Features Buyers Want Most

Location Is Key

Luxury homes are considered luxury for a reason, and it isn’t just the interior of the home but what’s right outside your front doorstep that’s just as important.

Imagine a ranch style home surrounded by lush forestry that makes for a permanent relaxing retreat or even a beachfront home that offers you your very own piece of paradise.

Luxury home buyers know that an ideal location is something that is non-negotiable.

Open-Concept Is King

While you may find open-concept floor plans in many non-luxury homes, it is an absolute must have in luxury homes.

With all of the beauty that your luxury home brings with grand entryways, the most stunning large staircases that make your home feel even bigger, and only the most detailed master finishings and features, you’re going to want to show it all off with an almost equally impressive, airy floor plan with room for all of your family and friends to enjoy.

The Convenience of Technology

When it comes to luxury homes, there is no doubt that you only want the best of the best.

If you think about what truly elevates a home’s experience to the next level, it’s hands down the convenience and easy accessibility it offers you and a lot of people find that through home gyms, saunas, basketball courts, and more.

But what about an easy to use home security system from the touch of your phone? Same with home controlled temperature, lights, locking your doors, etc - the things you’ll never want to lose once you’ve experienced once.

The Exterior is Just As Important

Similar to location, luxury home buyers want the exterior of their home to offer the same kind of luxurious beauty the inside does.

Outdoor areas for guests are also essential for entertaining, so anything from a large outdoor kitchen and BBQ, to plenty of room for lavish outdoor seating.

Large pools are absolutely essential as this is usually the main focal point for outdoor entertainment and even water features like waterfalls and fountains.

A Private Retreat

While many luxury homebuyers may certainly be on the lookout for close proximity to amenities and the core/downtown of wherever they’re living, they equally want all of the privacy they can get.

Whether this means large, gated communities including gates on the lot, homes elevated on a hill so no one can see from around, or lots large enough that the neighbours aren’t even close, privacy is key in luxury.

I agree that luxury homes are not just about having extravagant interiors and that buyers know that a good location is non-negotiable. In my case, I want a beach front property where I can see the open ocean. That's the only thing that would make me fall in love with the property.

I concur that purchasers are aware that a fantastic location is non-negotiable and that luxury houses are not simply about having opulent furnishings. In my situation, I desire a beachfront home with a view of the wide ocean. The only thing about the property that might make me fall in love with it is that. Thank you for this article!

I managed to save up more than enough for a residence of my own, so I was thinking of buying a luxury home this year. I found it helpful when you told us that an open-concept floor plan is a must-have in luxury homes since they have features that make the house feel even bigger and airier. I'll keep this in mind while I look for luxury properties for sale soon.
