Friends enjoying food at an evening food truck

Craving some delicious eats while on-the-go? Searching for something to satisfy your hunger at the speed of light? Food trucks are a great way to try something delicious while also supporting local businesses.

There are numerous food trucks zipping around the Durham Region. We’re here to give you the scoop on the ones (or entire locations!) that you don’t want to miss.

Batoota’s Food Truck: 381 Taunton Road East, Oshawa

This one is a bit underrated! Oshawa residents love this food truck in particular for its excellent service and great food!

Batoota’s encompasses a wide variety of menu options, from Dutch to Egyptian—and even Caesar salads. But no matter what you order, it’s guaranteed to be delicious. Their crowd favourites include the 12-piece Falafel, the wings, and the Bitterballen.

The Food Truck Corral: 2867 Bridle Road, Oshawa

Hungry, but don’t know what to eat? We’ve all been there. The Food Truck Corral is the delicious solution. This Oshawa area is where you’ll find several food trucks, parked for your convenience.

While the food trucks and menus do change occasionally, there are up to 14 different trucks for hungry visitors to choose from. Watt A Fry boasts the best fries in the world, and offers menu items like burgers, poutine, corn dogs, and more. Other popular trucks include Lowlands Fire Food (sourdough pizza with vegetarian and vegan options), Island Grill (jerk chicken, oxtail, roti, and more), and Bourbon Street Chicken (known for their sandwiches and bourbon lobster mac and cheese). As well, there are plenty of vegetarian or alternative menu items available.

The Food Truck Corral, like most, is not open all year round. As well, many of the vendors do not accept cash payments and have different opening/closing times. However, parking and admission are both free.

Food Truck Alley: 1967 Taunton Road East, Clarington

Alternatively, those located in the east Durham Region can also enjoy a wide selection of food truck options at just one stop. Food Truck Alley is your answer to hunger! And it’s the original—it’s popularity is responsible for The Food Truck Corral’s opening!

Although comparatively smaller than The Food Truck Corral, Food Truck Alley is conveniently located right off the highway in Clarington, which makes it an easy stop for travelers—and there is still a great range of food options! There is also a small picnic table area and parking available.

Some of the food truck options here include Opa’z (delicious Greek selection that includes souvlaki and baklava), King’s Finest Food (mouth-watering West Indian and Caribbean cuisine), and It’s Fryday! (fries, poutine, burgers, and more).
